Honeymoon

“That’s Barry!” No we are not talking about a person named Barry. It’s what people say in Edinburgh when they think something is fantastic. We are taking a 10-day honeymoon to London, York & Edinburgh with Stonehenge & Bath, we'll be saying “that’s barry” everywhere we go! And the reason everything is “barry” (fantastic) is because  all the details are arranged for us!

Our honeymoon begins the moment we arrive in London. Here, we will be greeted with a warm welcome by our Local Host. The next day, we have pre-arranged exclusive sightseeing with a local expert that will take us to the must-see attractions. We will visit St. Paul's Cathedral, with its world-famous dome and fascinating history, and the Changing of the Guard at Buckingham Palace. We will also have a full day in London to explore on our own (with the support of our Local Host, of course). We may want to visit Windsor Castle, the Tower of London, the British Museum, or one of the world-famous department stores, such as Harrods. (We haven't decided yet)

From London, we will be off to Stonehenge, the most famous prehistoric monument in the world. We will also go to Bath, where we will visit the Roman baths, built nearly two thousand years ago.

Then we head to York. We will be greeted by another Local Host at the train station, take us to our hotel, and present us with materials on the city so we can start exploring immediately. The next day, we have a pre-arranged hop-on/hop-off sightseeing tour, where we will see York Minster, the world-famous cathedral dating from the 7th century. We can't wait until to see its medieval stained glass!

Next, we will catch the Express train (first-class) to Edinburgh, where we will be greeted by yet another Local Host and another pre-arranged a sightseeing tour with a local expert who will share insider stories with us as we see the "New Town," dating to the 18th century, and the "Old Town," dominated by Edinburgh Castle. We will go to Edinburgh Castle, where and see the "Honours of Scotland," the oldest set of crown jewels in the British Isles. Then have another full day to explore on own own. Perhaps take a ghost tour of Edinburgh's Old Town or explore Holyrood Palace, Her Majesty the Queen’s official residence in Scotland and once the home of Mary, Queen of Scots.

As you can see, we've planned a honeymoon of a lifetime! Now that is “barry!”
